When you are considering vinyl plank flooring, remember the planks are made of vinyl tiles and not vinyl sheeting.  The advantages from using tiles is that you can have wide plank flooring, and laminate plank flooring, both of which are popular choices.

In fact with vinyl tiles you are spoilt for choice as there is a huge range of colours and designs such as slate, ceramic, wood, or stone.  Due to the hard wearing and easy cleaning nature of vinyl tiles, they can be found in residential properties in areas such as the basement, the kitchen, the bathroom and toilets.  They also provide necessary insulation and cleanliness in these areas which can sometimes be cold and dirty.

The installation of vinyl plank flooring is fairly simple, as the material comes in long plank tiles which just need cutting down to size.  The vinyl planks are bonded together with a special self adhesive which can be sourced from any flooring supplier.

The vinyl planks float on a prepared subfloor which can be made of underlay.  When preparing a floor it is important that you check the pre-installed products as if they are old may contain asbestos fibres and/or silica which if disturbed can seriously damage your health.
